Janis Brown is a licensed California real estate salesperson (DRE #01177032) and has worked in the industry since 1992. After beginning her career in retail sales, she transitioned into real estate sales and residential mortgages before discovering property management in 2012. She has been part of Luminor Real Estate’s evolution into the supportive, professional, and effective team it is today.



Janis thrives on building strong relationships with property owners and residents, solving problems, and finding practical solutions that benefit everyone involved. She also enjoys collaborating with vendors and learning from their expertise while always keeping each owner’s priorities and financial goals in mind.

Her approach extends beyond day-to-day property management. Janis focuses on preserving a property’s structural integrity, coordinating maintenance and improvements, and identifying opportunities to enhance its value and appeal in the rental market. She takes the time to understand each owner’s individual management style and works to build a trusted, long-term partnership.

Janis has lived in Oakland since 2011 and still enjoys the views during her commute across the Bay Bridge, including the Golden Gate Bridge, Treasure Island, and Alcatraz. On her days off, she enjoys exploring San Francisco’s neighborhoods, attending local festivals, sampling different cuisines, and spending time with friends in Golden Gate Park. One of her favorite simple pleasures is picking up a rustic sourdough bâtard from Tartine, bringing it to Ocean Beach, and relaxing on a blanket while people-watching. She also enjoys weekend trips to the Sierra foothills, where she visits friends, swims in the Yuba River, explores the towns along Highway 49, and spends time around Grass Valley, Nevada City, and the Lakes Basin.
